Glyn Mitchell

Glyn Mitchell, BA, Solicitor (England and Wales) is a Consulting associate with LRI who focuses on the development of leaders in companies which operate globally and in smaller ventures.

Glyn is an effective executive coach and an experienced facilitator.  He has assisted many executives in achieving success in their roles and is a consistently strong presenter and facilitator of training workshops and programs.

Glyn serves as an executive coach, enabling leaders to make successful transitions into new roles and to consolidate and maximize their potential in more established positions.  Glyn often works with members of the same team, to build overall effectiveness and to develop a strategic approach to talent development and retention.  Glyn is often engaged by clients to develop training programs and workshops to develop leaders in alignment with strategic business.


Glyn’s areas of expertise include:

  • Leading across cultures: enabling leaders to work successfully with multi-cultural and geographically dispersed teams.

  • 360-Degree and Psychometric Assessments: interview and survey based 360 Feedback linked with psychometric tools.
  • Team Development:  building effective working teams, developing strategic direction and building alignment.
  • Presenting and facilitation: design and delivery of training programs for individuals and teams.


Glyn serves a wide range of international companies and predominantly works in Europe and Asia.  His clients include Investment Banks and other financial services, international law firms, management consulting, pharmaceuticals, chemical manufacturing, and media.  Glyn also assists a number of small non-profit organizations on and pro-bono basis. His clients have included

McKinsey, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, BlackRock, Pfizer, Aptuit, Accuray, Moody’s, Dow Chemical, Alliance Data, NFL, Getty Images, Shearman & Sterling, and Nextag.

Glyn practiced as a Solicitor in the UK, working in family law and then as a prosecutor, before finding his continuing interest in developing people.  He held management roles in two non-profit organizations, which delivered leadership and team development using experiential education, before beginning his association with LRI in 2001.

Glyn holds a BA in Economics from the University of York and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1983.  He attained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring from Bangor University Business School and is certified in the MBTI, FIRO-B, the Cultural Orientation Framework and is a Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming.  Glyn is a member if the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and served on its Ethics Committee.

Glyn lives in the Lake District National Park in the UK with his wife and son.  He is an enthusiastic mountaineer and a qualified mountaineering instructor.  Glyn serves as a trustee of his local Mountain Rescue Team and is a past Chairman of the team.
